Letter to the UNSG Antonio Guterres: UNWomen
NGO Committee on the Status of Women, Geneva
WRI is a member of the NGO Committee on the Status of Women Geneva. Our Chair, Zarin Hainsworth OBE, is a Vice-President of the NGOCSWGeneva.
There is a lot of discussion at the moment on the finances of the UN with significant staff cuts and relocation to countries with lower costs of living. In addition there is discussion about merging UN entities and one of the debates is to axe UN Women. This letter was written on behalf of many NGOs who are seeking to maintain UN Women.
