About the event

Despite SDG 5.3 aiming to reduce child marriage, there are still around 12 million girls aged under 18 being married every year. The plight of child widows and their stigmatisation are seldom addressed – particularly in the Global North.

Speakers:

  • Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda, Chief Executive – Rozaria Memorial Trust

  • Luci Chikowero, USA Director – Rozaria Memorial Trust

  • Zarin Hainsworth, Chair – UK Civil Society Women’s Alliance & Chair – WRI

Support us

There's only so far we can go with donating our expertise and connections, and giving our time and energy, and while the best things in life may be free, thousands of widows in Africa and India wouldn't agree. Our lobbying and advocacy effort takes money. So if you can, please donate.
